ThanksOn Oct-15-08 at 12:00:25 PDT, seller added the following information: This plate(finishing)gear is located below the hopper, in the other pictures you can see where it can be opened, when you flip this back the gears are inside. I spoke again to the owner and he said that the sorter(breaker) gear is so big that he does not see how it could break grinding coffee, but is under the assumption that there where several mills made or ordered without this gear. However it does not say one way or the other in the coffee collectors books, and so to list and be on the safe side we stated that this does not have the sorter gear even though it may never had one from the beginning. He also stated that he could not see anything inside that looked out of place or broken off. I hope this helps. oldtimecollectors
