Description
Current Lot Eugène lonesco (1912-1994) Interesting set of documents comprising thirteen signed letters, some of which are autograph whilst some others are typed or typed but bearing autograph notes, written by the Master of the Theatre of the Absurd to a Finnish publisher, M.F. Ancharena, Tuula Wikander and other addressees. These letters date between 1953 and 1988, and relate future translation of his works into Finnish, existing translations in other languages and relevant publishers, meetings, replies to the letters received from admirers, permissions to reproduce his works (in full or in part) on magazines, licenses for luxury editions and other. Also included in this lot are many cut outs from Italian and foreign newspapers and magazines shedding light on Ionesco's personality and work as well as a nice photographic portrait with signed autograph dedication dated 'le 2 octobre 1989'.
