Although it is not dated, this writing is ascribable to the poet's early years as the way of 'feeling' and the thematic repertoire re-echoing through these words are close to the Crepuscular ideals that inspired his Sentimento (1908): 'Cosa avrai pensato del mio lungo silenzio? Oh perdonami, fratello caro! Sono stato troppo poeta in questi giorni e ò troppo sognato! E per dimostrarti che sono stato un grande poeta ti dirò che non ò scritto un sol verso [...] ricevo uno lettera dal Rosi (il suo insegnante di recitazione o Firenze) dallo quale apprendo che lvan, lvani, lvanola va a Roma al Congresso (per gli Studi classici, mi sembra), ed io dico fra me: gli scriverò "al ritorno r..l Lo mamma è a Roma da dieci giorni: avrei avuto piacere che tu fossi andata o trovarlo [...] papà sto meglio, ma è un po'annojato della solitudine e della disoccupazione.
