Of the contents of 76 Wooden Spools of Thread, some date about that that same time and others date earlier. The Sewing Box was made by Princess of Algonquin, Illinois. The Piece is in near excellent condition with the exception that one of the thread dowels inside the Pink Basket has broken off . (It is still in the Spool that fit too tightly and located in the Basket.) The Vintage paint is still quite nice with very few and subtle signs of wear. The Basket is very sound with the lid attached by Pink lacing. The top of the lid has a very Vintage decal of Sewing Supplies artfully arranged. The decal has yellowed with age, but still exceptionally colorful. Another smaller decal is located on the inside bottom of the Basket. The Basket stands approx 6 inches tall with the diameter measuring 11 inches. Inside the basket is a treasure of antique and Vintage Threads, all on Wooden Spools. In an array of beautiful colors, textures and sizes, most all are nearly full with very few exceptions. Brands include Talon, Clark's, Coats & Clark's, Brainard Armstrong and Belding Carticello Richardson. There is one Spool that really stands out that is gold, you might note it in the pictures...very vibrant, non-metallic, but truly gold! I've never seen a thread like it that wasn't metallic and somewhat tacky. This is a fine Vintage assortment that might even make a nice gift for the Collector.
