It tapers up to a 4 ½ inch diameter. it also tapers down to a 4 inch diameter base.  Printed in gold on the underside is Flare-Ware by HALL CHINA, Made in U.S.A. There are no chips or rough edges around the opening or lid top. The cookie jar is in good vintage condition with the usual minor marring to the gold (see photos) otherwise it is in excellent vintage condition.  Should you require any additional information or photos, please feel free to e-mail me.
