The duo horse heads on each bookend were called Chariot Horses. Each bookend is 5.25" tall, 5.5" long and 4.75" wide. The bookends are made out of white metal or some call it spelter and have been finished off with a nice faux brass finish. On the back of each they are marked with: "Frankart Inc. Pat Appld for". These bookends were made in the mid 1930s. On the bottom of each is a green felt that was replaced. There horse bookends are pictured in the book "Bookend Revue" by Robert & Donna Seecof on page #122. The bookends are both in good condition with no damage. There are some minor spots in the finish on the metal due to age. In the photos below they appear as small round darker spots. Not many and not bad, but still they can be found. This piece would make a nice addition to any Bookend or horse collection and/or a Christmas gift.
