Its time to let this set go. I purchased this nativity set while residing in Germany in 1986. Purchase was made at a store in Kaiserslautern, House of Clocks, doubt it still exists. As luck would have it, the day I picked it up, seemed like I had it in Lay-a-way forever, a traveling M.I. Hummel artist was visiting the store & signing both Hummel & Goebel pieces. He signed everyone of the original pieces, even the wooden manger. All pieces bear his signature and are dated 30-8-86. (I stood in a long line to get his John Henry) I cannot read his name...I would also tell you not to wipe vigorously or dampen signed area (bottoms). Ok, now to list the pieces. Joseph - HX 82 B King 1 - HX 82 K King 2 - HX 82 J (Black kneeling) , King 3 - HX 82 H Mary - HX 82/A Shepherd Boy - HX 82 E Baby Jesus - HX 82 C Lamb - HX 82 L Cow - HX 82 G Donkey - HX 82 F Angel Candle Holder - HX 82 (can't make out the rest but she belongs to this set) I think all the above are accurate, please collectors check your references or email me for more pics to identify, some of those little letters are hard to see. All porcelain pieces are marked Goebel W. Germany. I never had a box for this set. If any of you see a mistake I have made please email me asap. Add'l pics, be happy to take more and email them to you. The wooden manger is a larger one and yes the artist signed it. It has 2 stalls, gable roof, woodpile on left platform. Manger is a thicker more solid than the typical. The old price tag is still attached to the back in Deustch Mark. I'll leave it there but should be no problem to remove. To this set I added a camel, There is a gold foil sticker on his left flank stating " Made in Bethlehem Israel...someone told me the wood is Olive...I don't really know one wood from the other. He has a chain for his bridle, water flasks x 4, 2 on ea side attached with nails. He's in perfect condition. I made a little ceramic Christmas tree to display with the nativity, if you want it you are welcome to it. Just let me know whether to include in packaging or not. Condition: There is absolutely no chips, hidden breaks...aboslutely nothing. Set is dusty, has been stored for over 10 years. I will make sure all pieces + manger are ready for display. The manger and the camel I will oil for you, the porcelain dusted with soft cloth. Please keep in mind the manger does have some rough areas, this wood was not sanded or made to be perfect, I see no cracks in it. Lay-a-way Terms: 3 equal pmts. over 3 months. Everybody should have an opportunity to have beautiful items, I'll do my best to work with you. Payment/Shipping: I think $50.00 will cover the ship, ins. and handling. I will use new tissue double sheets with bubble for protection...it will be suitable for you to store after use if you don't display all year. If I overcharge you by more than a dollar there will be a refund in an envelope in your box. I don't intend on making money off postal charges but can't afford to lose any either.
