Description
ccupero Store Original Circa 1900 Junghans Onion Boy Swinger clock Do not confuse this with one of the many reproductions available on eBay which are produced in China . This is the "real deal" which dates back to circa 1900. The Junghans clock company was started back in 1859 in the Black Forest area of Germany by Erhard Junghans and his brother in law Jacob Zeller. The company made many styles of clock in addition to the statue swingers which include: box clocks, regulators, mantel clocks, novelty clocks, alarm clocks. There is very little documentation out there about the Junghans swingers. We do not know exactly how many types of statues exist that were made by Junghans verse how many Junghans movements were sold to French statue makers. I have included a picture below which shows the Junghans swinger clocks which I know both the statue and the movement were produced by Junghans includes: Kangaroo (extremely rare) Bat Boy (hard to find) Onion Boy (extremely rare) Cleopatra (hard to find) Diana (common) Barmaid (extremely rare) Elephant (common) Statue of Liberty (extremely rare) Column - round (rare) Column -metal rod, believed to be the original proto type (extremely rare) Column - marble base (extremely rare) Check out my other Junghans Swingers I have listed on eBay which include the Kangaroo, Bat Boy, Onion Boy, and Cleopatra. Guaranteed to be original and not a reproduction Condition: The statue is in excellent condition with no cracks or broken pieces. The patina on the statue was professionally redone about five years ago by a gentleman by the name of Charles Carrick who specializes in statue restoration and is a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) and does work for many other NAWCC members. The base is all original showing some minor scuffs and wear which is expected with a 100+ year old clock. The swinging arm movement is marked on the lower portion of the dial "Junghans Germany". The porcelain dial is in perfect condition with no hairlines and the glass is also in perfect condition with no scratches or chips. The clock is currently in working condition but might need minor adjustments after shipping. Overall this is an absolutely stunning clock and would make a nice addition to any one's collection. Shipping: The clock will be double boxed and the jewel bar will be removed for safe shipping. Within each box will be plenty of bubble wrap and Styrofoam peanuts. Good news for you is I do not charge for packaging materials but use plenty of it to protect your treasures. I charge actual shipping cost based on your ship to address and the final weight of the package. Insurance is required. All packages will be shipped with 24 hours or receipt of payment and a tracking number will be emailed to the winner so they can track their shipment. Payment: I prefer cashiers check, money order or personal check do to the hefty Paypal fees which will be leverage on this size transaction. However I will accept Paypal if you insist. Acknowledgement of payment being mailed must be received within 48 hours of close of the auction. If paying by Paypal full payment must be received within 48 hours.
