EXTREMELY RARE Pair of Matching Fire Chief Gasoline Signs from the 40's You are bidding on a rarity. This doesn't happen often.These two have managed to stay together for 61 yearsDate code is 3-10-47 on both signs as picturedSize 12"x18"One sign is slightly faded as compared to the other (naturally it was on the sunny side of the pump).Signs were both removed from the same gas pump in an abandoned Texaco station in Helen, GA around 1985.The signs have been indoors ever since.They have never been cleaned, modified, restored, or touched upDescription for sign on left in picture; All six bushings are present A little red paint on the top left (probably from pump repaint) Chip behind top left bushing 1/4 inch diameter Very clean overall Back side is in left on picture 2. Very clean on the back with a little staining from bushing rustDescription for sign on the right in picture. Left middle and lower right bushing missing All other bushings present Porcelin chipped around both middle mounting holes Bottom left hole-finish chipped about nickel sized Back side has silver paint Felt applied in six places on backThey weigh 1.7 lbs each These guys are offered at no reserve.
