Description
Before you read read any further be aware that I live in upstate New York and this is for LOCAL PICKUP ONLY! It was all I could do to carry this juicer from my basement into the living room...it's HEAVY! I bought this juicer several years ago when I got tired of cheap juicers that left moist pulp and ultimately fell apart. There's no doubt that no other juicer extracts more juice and MORE NUTRITIOUS JUICE than the Norwalk. You can read all the evidence at NORWALKJUICERS.COM. It works on a whole other principle than all other juicers and does things (like grind coffee beans...make a delicious banana "ice cream" from nothing but frozen bananas...) that no other juicer can do. BUT it does take some getting used to and if you're looking for the easiest-to-use, fastest-to-clean juicer, this is not for you. You're going to need the manual (it's included) and you'll want to follow the instructions religiously, otherwise you'll wind up, as I did the first few days, with carrot pulp on your ceiling. As for cleaning, Norwalk's claim that "it takes moments to clean" is somewhat of an exaggeration. Cleaning the various parts as well as the bags was a bit of a chore for me. (I'd say cleanup of the Norwalk takes about twice the time as with a "normal" juicer). I eventually settled on a once-a-week routine where I'd make a week's worth of juice on Sunday while watching Meet The Press. (I'd freeze 6 days worth of the juice in cups.) Before the end of the program I'd have my 7 days of juice, a clean juicer, and clean bags. Not bad really since cutting and cleaning the vegetables took up a chunk of that time. Still, I prefer making fresh juice each day and so I wound up buying a Breville Juicer which I find to be a decent compromise. It gets ALMOST as much juice out of the vegetables. And while I'm sure the juice isn't as nutritious (like most juicers it brutalizes the vegetables...something the Norwalk hydraulic press doesn't do) the fact that the juice is fresh, not frozen and defrosted, probably balances things out. But enough about me. If YOU are willing to work with the Norwalk I'm sure you'll learn to love it, along with the TRULY DELICIOUS AND NUTRITIOUS juice it makes. It comes with the original manual, two wooden "pushers", extra never-used bags (I like buying extras of everything) and all the original blades for making all kinds of juices and concoctions. On Nov-29-08 at 11:16:58 PST, seller added the following information: Use the FREE Counters 1 million sellers do - Vendio!
