If you're looking for a quilt in shades of burgundy; look no further...this beautiful quilt is even nicer in person! The variation of burgundy floral fabics are hand appliqued on a creamy white muslin and finished off with mixed green fabrics for the leaves, stems and swag. This quilt is all hand appliqued and hand quilted by a skillful member of the Amish community. The quilt is initialed by the maker "EMF 2008". There is outline quilting around the applique designs as well as straight-line and fancy quilting with exquisite detail given to the center section with a cross-hatch pattern (please see photos). The border and edge of this quilt is finished off with a scallop design and both bottom corners have a Dogwood Bouquet (shown in photo). The quilt quilt is trimmed with 1/4" green piping which is turned and hand-sewn to the back-side of the quilt, which is the same creamy muslin as used for the front of the quilt. Faint pencil lines are still visible as they were the guide for the quilter and usually disappear during the quilt's first washing. Seeing these pencil lines are a good thing as they confirm the authenticity and integrity of all hand quilting. The size is a generous 102" wide x 110" long and is shown on a queen size bed; however, this quilt would work on either a King or Queen bed with a dust ruffle, but please check your measurements before bidding.
