Among many other things, it included various raw materials used in the making of prayer beads and kombolois. Some of this raw materials comprised still untouched rods and plaques of GALALITH, FATURAN and CATALIN .  This raw material was given to my traditional master bead carvers who produced this exceptional and highly collectible item. You are presented here with an exceptional Prayer Bead Strand that is entirely hand carved by a master Bead carver in the traditional Ottoman style. Close up of the pictures show the beautiful shape of the beads, which, with the main bead carving are of typical old 0ttoman carving.This strand is made from  vintage GALALITH ( see explanation above ) which is a great  rarity. Description  Material : Vintage GALALITH - from newly discovered old stock - pre 1940 - XXXXR Tassel : Of same beads - very rare and elegant with CAPTIVE RINGS General : 33 Beads of BEYZI SHAPE ( elongated Oval) Size of beads :  11.5 x 8.5 mm The Beads are particularly large compared to usual equivalent beads, adding to their rarity . Carving by Edirneli Ali Usta Color : Dark Pistachio GREEN- With a lot of inner glow   Galalith, a milk protein plastic, was produced in a rainbow of brilliant colors and marbling patterns. It was used in France and Germany from the 20's to the 40's. Once synthetic plastics were invented the production of Galalith ceased . Galalith, which is milk-based, as opposed to chemically based, is actually  heavier than bakelite and has a much more polished finish.THIS A FANTATSIC OCCASION TO OWN AN EXTREMELY RARE AND INTERESTING ITEM.
