Each bookend has a solid block base and atop each base sits a very nicely detailed carved Cockatoo. The birds have glass eyes and the carving is exceptional, all the way down to their feet. Very nice grain and coloring in the alabaster. There is a hand-written mark on the bottom of each bookend, "Made in Italy". Please look at all the pictures and e-mail me if you have any questions.*The bookends have been relisted due to non-payment. SIZE: Bookends are about 6" high, and the birds alone are about 3-1/2" high. Bases are 3-1/4" x 2-1/4" and 2-3/8" high. Each bookend weighs a little over 1 pound, 10 ounces. CONDITION: The birds are in very nice condition with what might be a bit of wear on the feathers on top of the head of one bird. The same bookend has two good size chips on the base, where each of the back corners has been broken off (see pictures). There is no other damage.
