Description
This stone carving is made out of a stone with a mineral content that can be found in the southern Mexico, specifically in the archeological site of Tres Zapotes, Veracruz. My reference comes from an archeologist that examined it, it dates back to the Pre-Classic Olmec Culture of southeastern Mexico, between 1800 BC and 600 AD.This stone carving was recuperated from an old Indian Ceremonial Site on the banks of the Rio Grande River, in Laredo;, Texas, 40 years ago. There was obviously some communication between both Indian cultures many centuries back. The seller was familiar with it about 20 years previous to that. According to the archeologist, there is another similar artifact in the Museum of Anthropology in Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, insured by Lloyd's of London for $1.5 million dollars. The stone carving weighs about 300 lbs. and measures about 3 feet in length by two feet in height and about 20 inches wide. Other pictures can be forwarded upon request as well as further ditails. ALL SERIOUS OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED. I am open for bids. Removal and transportation to be paid by purchaser.
