The seller was familiar with it about 20 years previous to that.  According to the archeologist, there is another similar artifact in the Museum of Anthropology in Jalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, insured by Lloyd's of London for $1.5 million dollars.  The stone carving weighs about 300 lbs. and measures about 3 feet in length by two feet in height and about 20 inches wide.
