' Description Punch & Judy Cast-Iron Bank Highly Collectible Looking for a unique Christmas gift?  Wanna reclaim some childhood memories? This is an original cast-iron bank featuring the popular puppet show characters, Punch and Judy. This piece was made by Shephard Hardware in Buffalo, NY in July of 1884. As you can see, the bank depicts a puppet show scene complete with stage and show curtain.  Judy receives the coin in a plate in her hand and when the lever is pressed, Punch rushes forward brandishing a club.  Judy turns quickly and deposits the coin in the bank.  Condition: This piece is in very good condition overall considering its age and is in much better shape than most we've seen on Ebay.  The paint is slightly worn but about the same as others we've seen and better than some.  The parts move as they did when this was made.  The lever does not hold or stay cocked indicating a spring may need replacing.  There is a small area of trelice work behind the Punch and Judy sign that is missing or was cracked at some point.  This bank has been well kept and has never been polished or cleaned. Dimensions: Bank is approximately 7 inches tall x 6.5 inches wide and weighs 4.7lbs.
