Zassenhaus Ceramic Coffee Mill or Grinder with a canister that features an excellent Arts and Crafts blue design. All of the parts are original and in wonderful condition except for the lid which has some damage. Four old wood screws  with the unit are included. The metal tag is still  intact below the graduated glass receptacle: Geschmiedetes Mahiwerk over a reclining lion holding an open umbrella.  An 'R' and 'Z' flank the lion mark.  DRGM and DRGY and Zassenhaus. The iron crank arm is marked Zassenhaus and Garantie, separated by asterisks. SIZE:  The mounting board is 17-3/4" tall and 6-1/2" wide.  It extends about 7-1/4" out from the back of the board to the tip of the handle. CONDITION:  Overall very nice condition. Secured nicely to the board. Ceramic Container:  Excellent.  No cracks or repairs. A very small nick on the top opening edge and some roughness around the bottom opening. Some overall crazing which is common to ceramics and is not a condition problem. Glass Receptacle:  Excellent condition.  It was a production piece of glass so there is some roughness on the edges. Grinder:  Wonderful condition. Operates smoothly.  A few rubs and wear to the paint, but its minimal.  Structurally wonderful and works well.  Some of the paint has worn from the  wood handle. We carefully cleaned grounds without disassembly.  Still may be some inside and could get jostled loose during transit. Wood Lid:   There are two cracks that probably occurred either from heat or water.  There is some paint scraped around the edges and on top next to what appears to be a cigarette burn.  The rubber gasket is good and the inside is clean.  Mounting Board: A few paint scraps, most noticeable where the glass receptacle fit above the tag on the bottom.  Some green paint around the edges, probably strays during a wall painting job. The metal latch to hold the ceramic container snaps sharply. The metal tag has what appears to be some coffee grounds behind it.   In photos, white area are from photo lighting and not condition problems, unless identified as such.  Buyers rave about our great packing and speedy shipping!  Its Zippy!!   Zippy10!! In some instances we discount the discount!  We generally use UPS Ground  for more expensive, large, heavy items.  We charge actual shipping, so if the fee we list is more than actual shipping, we refund the difference.  In no instance, do we charge more.  In some instances, you may pay less than the actual shipping cost! UPS can be delivered only to street addresses, so any item sent to a post office box must go by USPS and we have found they charge significantly more. For international shipments, we  use insured Priority Mail International or Express Mail International.  NOTE: We used to charge a very small handling fee to offset our rising materials costs. But even with fast-rising fuel costs, we have eliminated that handling charge without reducing the high quality of our packing or speed of shipping. We would like you to be a regular customer! Remember, shipping cost is based on size and weight of the item, not on what you pay for an item. Sometimes shipping will cost more than the item, particularly if its an inexpensive item. That's beyond our control. So if that's a concern, please ask for a shipping cost estimate. We'll be happy to provide it. INSURANCE: Buyer pays insurance which is required on all items.
