Description
Very neat find from the past. Made in the U.S.A. by LORRAINE METAL MFG. CO.in NEW YORK USA-this is on the back of this interesting nutmeg-spice grinder.I believe this kitchen tool was screwed (original screw is still attached-there is rust on the screw) on to a table, then the wooden original handle is turned, the nutmeg ball is put into the square metal top and the rough barrel is turned to chop up nutmeg (or other spices).Original green paint still there. Rust is in the barrel and some on the outside metal-see photos. Also there is a bonus. I don't know if the "pusher" which is wooden, came with the tool or was made by the owner to use to push the nutmeg ball to help get it ground. Nevertheless, it was not lost through all these years! Super multiple collectable especialy for early USA made pieces and very early kitchen tools. Thanks for visiting our Site !
