RARE Antique Apollo Ornate Brass Ormolu Full Vanity Set Ornate Brass Jewlry Box-2 Perfume Bottles-Faux Gem-Tray Start Price USD 550.00 Current Price USD 550.00 Time Left - Bid Count 0 Buy It Now Price USD 700.00 Reserve Price - Start Time Saturday, November 15, 2008 End Time Tuesday, November 25, 2008 Location Greendaisy Lane, NY See more about 'RARE Antique Apollo Ornate Brass Ormolu Full Vanity Set' Description —for your consideration—RARE Antique Apollo of New York StudiosOrnate Floral Brass Ormolu Full Vanity Setcompany was in operation during the early 1900's for less than 20 yearsIncludes: Beautiful Burgundy Velvet Lined Brass Jewelry BoxDecorated with a Raised Floral and Plant Motif& Decorated with Large Purple Glass Prong Set Faux GemAll sides of the box are decorated with detailed metal stampings2 Gorgeous Brass and Glass Filigree Perfume BottlesDecorated with Large Blue Glass Prong Set Faux GemsThe Bottle Stoppers are mostly brass with glass droppers.the bottom of the perfume bottles are glass decorated with brass filigree cover.An Ornately Decorated Filigree Brass Mirror Traythe jewelry box measures 6 1/4 inch by 4 1/4 inches widethe depth is 2 1/4 inch high.little brass feet add another 1/4 inch of height.the top of the box is covered with raised leaves and flowers which overlap each other. please view photos. all surfaces with the exception of the bottom part of jewelry box are decorated.the faceted glass gemstone is 1 3/8 inches wide and 7/8 of an inch high.The Jewelry Box is the only piece that is Marked APOLLO on the bottom. the velvet lining is in very good to excellent antique condition.the top lid of the box opens smoothly. there is no warping.there is some discoloration to the bottom of the jewelry box which no one can see.there is also some discoloration to the sides of the jewelry box.i do not  know how to clean this item. i'm sure it needs cleaning.overall it is a gorgeous jewelry box!the perfume bottles measure 5 inches high with the stopper in place.the decorative tops measure 2 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide.the faceted glass gemstones measure 1 3/8 inches high and 1 inch wide.the bottom of the bottles flair to 3 inches wide.Both Bottles are in Fantastic condition! i see no flaws.the mirrored vanity tray holds a mirror that is 7 3/4 inches high and 13 1/2 inches wide. if the 1 3/4 inch frame is included the tray measures 17  x 11 inches wide. it has a depth of 1 1/4 inches. the frame is also beautifully decorated. the cloth on the bottom is in very good condition. there is a little wear to the cloth near the edges of the box were there are square objects holding up the tray. the mirror surface of the tray has some minor scratches and..... one edge is chipped. as i walked home from the antique dealer's house (yes he sold stuff from his house) i dropped the tray and chipped  the mirror. it can be seen in the photos.Overall this is a gorgeous antique set.although only one piece is marked it is obviously a matching set.the set was made by APOLLO STUDIOS of NEW YORK, a division of Bernard Rice & Sons between 1909 and 1922.They are known for quality craftsmanship!
