It features a figural monkey pewter thumblift and shows a detailed scene of a hallucinating student with cats and mice running amuck under a table in a tavern. It is 100% ORIGINAL and in PERFECT condition! The inlay lid shows a monkey standing atop a barrel with a fish in his mouth. This desirable and harder to find stein is in FABULOUS condition! The details and colors are magnificent. TRADEMARKS/UNDERSTAMPS: The base of the stein is incised with the Mettlach Old Abbey Tower trademark with the "VB" Villeroy & Boch banner. It is also incised, "Ges-Gesch", the item number, "2662" "II", the number "40" and the number "00" and "19" MEASUREMENTS:  The stein stands 8" high to the top of the inset lid and 9 1/4" high to the tip of the thumblift. The capacity is 0.5L (one half liter). At the base it measures about 4 1/4" in diameter. It was made in Germany in 1900. CONDITION: The stein is in excellent condition. There are no chips, lines, cracks, crazing, or repairs. The lid is very tight without any wobble and fits beautifully. The interior is clean and white. In my opinion and after very careful inspection, it is perfect. Wait until you see this stein in person - it will make a fabulous addition to your collection or to give as a cherished gift!
