Genuine Purple Jade is a hard and durable Rare natural rock from Turkey that occurs in colors ranging from taupe to mahogany to lavender-purple.  It is composed primarily of the minerals jadeite, acmite, quartz and plagioclase, and is not dyed, heat treated or polymerized. Basic composition is determined by x-ray diffraction analyses and other advanced methods. Purple Jade has a refractive index of 1.62, a specific gravity of 3.03, and a hardness of 6.0.
