Description
I mainly buy and sell comic books here, but have occasionally put up for auction, items from my Grandmother's house which date from the 1930's to 1970's. Recently I discovered this. An aunt had received an envelope, sometime in 1961-62, with photos of President Kennedy and his cabinet members, many of them autographed. Unfortunately, JFK was not one of the signed ones, but his Attorney General and brother Robert, was. The 5 x 7 photo has been certified by PSA/DNA, and the autograph graded as NM-MT 8, a very nice piece. There is also an autographed 5 x 7 photo of Vice President and future President, Lyndon Johnson, an autographed 8 x 10 photo of Secretary of Labor and future Supreme Court Justice and Ambassador to the U.N., Arthur Goldberg, an autographed 4 x 6 photocopy of Secretary of State, Dean Rusk, an autographed 5 x 7 photocopy of Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, Abraham Ribicoff, an autographed 4 x 5 photo of Secretary of Defense and future president of the World Bank, Robert McNamara, an autographed 8 x 10 photo of Secretary of the Interior Stewart Udall ( actually, TWO of these autographed photos were in the envelope), and an autographed 4 x 6 photocopy of Secretary of the Treasury C. Douglas Dillon. Let me point out that some are actual photos, and some are photocopies, but all of the aforementioned are actual signatures. And all but Dean Rusk, who seems to have had a hiccup or something, are very strong signatures. There is a total of 13 photos or photocopies ( including the duplicate), and 8 actual signatures ( not counting the duplicate). Rounding out the lot are an 8 1/2 x 11 photocopy of President Kennedy (thin paper quality), 6 x 9 photocopy of Secretary of Commerce Luther Hodges ( thin paper quality), 5 x 8 photo of Postmaster General J. Edward Day, 5 x 7 photocopy of Secretary of Agriculture Orville Freeman (cardstock quality), and the actual envelope these were mailed in. Slight wear on these, no tears or major problems, only someone ( probably my Grandma), had written the person's title on the back, or sometimes on the bottom, as you will notice in some of the photos. Shipping is free for this lot. Feel free to ask any questions, and thanks for looking!
