Description
NO RESERVE!  Very good to excellent condition.  This Ruger hand drill was in my father’s workshop for many years.  It shows some wear, but I don’t believe he used it very much.    It was manufactured by the Ruger Corporation in nearby Southport, Connecticut.   From my research, I believe it was manufactured in the late 40’s, early 50’s before the company became well known for it’s production of high-quality firearms.  It is one of the best examples that I’ve seen of this scarce drill--the pictures tell the story.  It has much of the design and technology that went into Ruger’s manufacturing of pistols.    It is unique because it has the early-style Ruger pistol grip.  It has a blued metal grip with some minor bluing loss and pitting.   The main body appears to be  brushed aluminum, but I‘m not sure.  The rotating gear mechanism still retains most of its original red paint.  All parts are fully functional, including the door on the storage area in the grip for bits.  It has a black painted wooden crank handle with some moderate paint loss.  Stamped into the cylinder is “Ruger Corp. Southport, Conn U.S.A. Patents Pending”   This drill will be a welcome find for a tool collector or a collector of early Ruger products.    I accept Paypal only and will ship via USPS priority mail to the continental United States (Alaska & Hawaii extra).  Insurance is included in the shipping price for this item.  Shipping & Insurance will be a flat fee of $10.00.
