I have taken multiple photos to give you the feel for it .. It is as if the paint should be black on this area but is white. It could have been like that but being it's 60 years old, I do not know. As you can see it is not observable from the front and it is NOT a nick either.. it does not detract from the piece at all.. This a great piece for any collector.
