Sir Thomas Lipton (Lipton Tea) built Shamrock V in 1930 as one of the first J-class boats. Shamrock V was Thomas Lipton’s final challenge for the Americas Cup. Shamrock would never go on to win the cup, but she is hailed for her beautiful classic hull design. In 1988 Shamrock was purchased and restored by the Museum Of Yachting at Newport RI.
