Description
Please DO NOT be put off by my Buy-It-Now price............of course I will gladly accept it but please do not hesitate to make offers. Ebay has changed so many rules that this is the only economically feasible way that I can continue to list ltems. Each offer will be considered and believe me.............ALL my items are for sale. bought this at a local estate auction just thinking it was a pretty green jar....upon further investigation I discovered it is listed in Gene Florence's Kitchen Glassware of the Depression Years (many years old) and that it is a butter churn bottom........not to be confused with the pickle jar shown on page 55 which has a smaller mouth..........I do not have the dasher thing...just the jar.....and a beautiful jar it is........such wonderful coloring......really just bought it to put above my kitchen cabinets with my other treasures but upon discovering what it is I thought someone may have the dasher and need it badly. ....perfect condition with the exception of the crack in the bottom.......you can't even feel it with your fingers but you can see it.......I really do not think this will hurt it because I doubt it would be used for churning butter but for looks only.....9 3/4" tall..............barrel shaped with the center being larger than the top or bottom....top opening is 4 3/4" and the bottom diameter is 5 1/2"...........note the little windows in the glass and the circle...center front...............according to Gene Florence....there was no mention of maker and was listed under "Green Transparent Glass Miscellaneous".I looked through hundreds of churns on Ebay, both open and closed auctions, and found absolutely nothing to compare with this so am guessing it is quite rare. I am selling what I have described as is with no reserve, shipping USA $10.95 with insurance suggested. I am not responsible for your item after it leaves my hands if you make the choice NOT to purchase insurance.Questions welcome and more pictures available on request. International bidders welcome but a surcharge will be added to your final total.
